Summer Transfer Update: June 2017

With the silly season officially starting in the European summer, transfers are occurring and rumors are being told about around the world. Here are three transfers stories are being most talked about.

Alvaro Morata: Real Madrid to Manchester United (RUMOR)

Many at Old Trafford are looking to see who would be the ideal replacement for Zlatan Ibrahimovic following his departure from Manchester United as head boss Jose Mourinho is looking to bring the Spanish striker from the Bernabeu to England. While reports in Spain say Morata’s agent held talks at the Santiago Bernabeu to try to negotiate the player’s departure, the price will not come cheap as rumors are being told about of around a £80m price tag for the player 19 goals in 43 matches last season as Real Madrid won the double (La Liga and UEFA Champions League).

Zinedine Zidane wants the former Juventus striker to stay but the player is desperate for more game time, where he can demonstrate it for the Red Devils, much to the disgust of Marcus Rashford, who is clearly wanting to also become the star of a new look Manchester United in the Champions League next season.

Corentin Tolisso: Lyon to Bayern Munich (TRANSFER)

Now from a transfer rumor to a confirmed transfer in Bavaria. The defending Bundesliga champions confirmed that of 22-year-old Corentin Tolisso from Lyon, signing a five-year deal worth €40m. A player who has been consistently good in Ligue 1 comes as someone looking to create depth either in the midfield or in the defense, especially following the departure of retiring Philipp Lahm and Xabi Alonso.

Time will tell how much playing time the Frenchman will get under Carlo Ancelotti but someone like Tolisso is something to be excited for, especially being a part of a new generation of young French players.

Douglas Costa: Bayern Munich to Juventus (RUMOR)

Of course, with the arrival of Tolisso, many will be waiting to see what Brazilian midfielder Douglas Costa’s future will be. Many reports suggest that he will head to Turin and join the Serie A champions Juventus, after being reported of the 26-year-old being unhappy in Munich after failing to secure a regular starting berth.

A player blessed with talent and speed on the wings will only strengthen the attacking depth that Massimiliano Allegri has at his disposal, reports suggest that the manager is interested in getting the Brazilian international and Bayern are willing to let go of him should the fee that they want will be in the €45m range.
